Our ingredients and the nutritional needs they fulfill:
Whole wheat flour. 100% stone ground whole wheat flour from hard red U.S. dark northern spring wheat with all of the nutritious macronutrient content of the bran and germ still intact. Whole wheat is a good source of fiber, protein, calcium, iron, and other minerals like selenium.
Organic peanut butter. High in protein and good fat, Vitamin H in peanut butter increases the sheen of your dog's coat, improves the quality of the skin and the strength of the nails, and Vitamin E supports the immune system.
Extra Virgin olive oil from the Peloponnese of Greece. Olive oil protects the heart and makes the skin extra healthy. It is very rich and can aid digestion.
Unsulphered Blackstrap Molasses.
Unlike refined sugars, it contains significant amounts of vitamins and minerals. Blackstrap molasses is a source of calcium, magnesium, potassium and iron.
Cinnamon. Rich in choline, it also has good amounts of vitamin A, C, E (Alpha Tocopherol), Niacin and Betaine. It also has small amounts of vitamin K, B6 and pantothenic acid.
Himilayan Crystal Salt. Provides trace minerals, antibacterial and preserving properties, free from any additives.
Spring water and almond milk. We do not use tap water because it contains chlorine and may contain fluoride, toxic substances that, with ongoing consumption, can have dire consequences. We do not use distilled water because it has the wrong ionization, pH, polarization and oxidation potentials, and can drain the body of necessary minerals. Almond milk is high in a number of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin E, manganese, magnesium, phosphorous, potassium, selenium, iron, fiber, zinc and calcium. It is lactose, gluten, casein and cholesterol free; it's also free of saturated fats.
Remember, a treat is not meant to take the place of food! A raw diet is the best diet. Nikita, (our rescue Siberian Husky) and Melissa, (our rescue Jack Russell-Terrier-Dachshund!) eat raw organic meats and fresh vegetables made from scratch at home to which we add a whole food supplement. It’s more work and requires being prepared but is less expensive than buying prepackaged frozen raw meals. Fresh raw meaty bones are an important component of a raw diet, and we all know how dogs love bones!
